New Sandpit for the Creche
Richards Bay Lutheran Congregation and Happy Little Stars Christian School want to thank the men of our church for helping to build a sandpit for our Christian School. It took 5 hours and a lot of sweat but finally our children have even more fun on our jungle gym. As proof just watch the slideshow beneath. Thank you to all who helped!
Confirmation class visits Pastor Stephans home
Getting to know each other! Half of the confirmation class visited the home of Rev. Stephan. The students had fun in the pool and playing games. We had a Braai and we ended the fun day with a prayer.
Washing of the Feet 2012
The “Washing of the feet” is a tradition in our Lutheran Church which reminds us of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples before the Last Supper (Joh 13).
Jesus Christ set an example for all Christians, that it is our duty to serve others. Especially in leadership positions a Christian should not use his influence and power for his own gain but to serve others. Washing the feet is a valuable and humbling experience and should stand as a reminder to us that as Christians we should SERVE our families, congregations and communities to the best of our abilities.
Below you can see pictures of the “Washing of the feet”- service in our congregation. Rev. Stephan Gensicke washed the feet of 12 members of our congregation. Afterwards we celebrated the Holy Communion.
New Council
The New Council of Richards Bay Lutheran Congregation was installed today. If you want to see all members of our council and their portfolios, please choose under the Menu “About us/Congregational Council”.
Today on Easter we said “Thank you” and farewell to the old members and wished Gods blessing for the new members of our council. The new members are as follows:
B.B. Biyela – Chairperson; M.M. Msane – Deputy Chairperson; T.T. Xulu – Secretary; L. Dlamini – Deputy Secretary; M. Xulu – Treasurer; T. Ntuli – Events Coordinator, S. Ngidi – Additional member; C.E. Maphanga – Mens League Chairperson; N. Khathi – Womens League Chairperson; D. Ngidi – Young Adult League Chairperson, J. Ntanzi – Youth League Chairperson.
The congregation of Richards Bay wishes the Council Gods blessings and his wisdom to lead our congregation into the future.
